In Inquiry students will explore a History and Geography unit, Let’s Explore our World. During this unit students will be provided with an overview of our planet and many of the ways we can explore it. Students begin with their own physical location in this world, expanding from their neighbourhood to their city and eventually to the continent on which they live. To understand where they are on the planet, students are taught about maps and how to use them—from two-dimensional maps of their city or state to the globe.
Throughout the unit they will explore the landscapes, wildlife, and people of each continent.
Wellbeing
We will be using the Respectful Relationships program to focus on:
- Stress Management
- Help – Seeking
Students will engage in lessons looking at:
- how to identify stress, and how to relax their minds and bodies when this feeling is present.
- identify people in their lives who they can call on for help when they require someone to assist them in a situation
There will be a continued focus on our SWPBS Expectations as outlined in our whole school matrix.
