What’s happening in Italian in Term 1 2026
FOUNDATION:
Ciao e benvenuti! (Hello and welcome!) to Italian at Westmeadows Primary School. In Term 1, our Foundation students will begin their journey into the Italian language and culture through weekly Italian lessons. Through stories, songs, games and movement activities, students will learn how to use simple everyday greetings such as ciao, buongiorno and arrivederci, and practise introducing themselves by saying their name in Italian. They will also explore numbers from 1–10 and learn the Italian words for a range of colours, applying their learning through hands-on classroom activities. The focus this term is on building confidence, encouraging participation, and fostering curiosity about learning another language. Looking forward to a fantastico Term 1 with our Foundation students.
